Try that feature and think about what it means to lose that ability. OpenLP and other worship programs use the "paging" format so that you can IMMEDIATELY jump to wherever the music leader takes you in a song, with a single (C) or double (V2) keystroke. BUT - if you find and use a program that does scroll, you will quickly find that it limits your flexibility during a worship service: If the music director decides to repeat a verse on the spur fo the moment, or skip a verse (often trying to adjust time), you're going to be scrambling to scroll back (or forward) to that portion of the song - and it confuses the congregation when that happens. My recommendation would be to go back to your leadership and find out what the motive is behind the scrolling text idea.

It is in fact a very rare "feature", the only software I know of to do this is EasyPraise, an almost unheard of commercial product.
But when many people are reading trying to read it, their brain is not in sync with the controller's brain, so it's actually distracting and requires considerable concentration.įor the reasons above, I doubt it is a "feature" OpenLP will ever support. Scrolling works well if the controller is the only one reading the text. If it were, you would see it used more on TV, etc.
